It’s the Georgia Generic Nicknames!
Thursday can’t get here soon enough. This kid will be making the trek from New Albany, IN to Washington D.C. and cannot wait to see the Muskies in action against the Dawgs of Georgia. They are coming off a huge high in winning the SEC Tournament and will be looking to make some more noise in the NCAA tournament. But we’ll worry more about the Bulldogs in another post.
It was cool to see the Muskies get a camera during the Selection Show. They seemed pretty relaxed, but showed the requisite excitement when Xavier came on the screen. West Virginia had by far the best celebration of any team after they were selected. They were all just dancing around like a bunch of idiots. Good stuff.
I hope the boys were watching ESPN’s breakdown of the brackets after the game. There are few things I hate more than big conference arrogance. Only 6 at-large bids came from the “mid-major” conferences. But if you didn’t know that, you’d have thought at least half the teams came from (aaack) “mid-major” conferences. Dickie V. was already calling for Georgia to beat us and Hubert Davis, (who, mind you, had just been the analyst of our loss to St. Joes a week and a half ago) started talking about our backcourt and one “Scottie Burrell.” Of course, he then went on to pick us to get to the elite eight.
Sigh……I don’t even know why I bother getting myself worked up over stuff like this anymore. People will look down on us just because of the name on our jersey. Even against a team that had four wins up until this past weekend in a mediocre SEC.
Regardless, March Madness is upon us and I can’t wait for the games to begin.
Go X!

interesting stuff in the espn selection show……….i too noticed the folleys and expected nothing less from dicky v. and yeah were pretty much gonna get hated on from here till the end of time. we could dominate every team we play from here through the national championship and the “experts” would still find a way to lessen the accomplishment……but fuck it, we’ll take whatever comes our way and its time to put up and shut up all the haters out there!

I don’t agree with you. I think you need to understand that there is no way a team from some random mid-major conference could ever win the national title, therefore they should not be allowed in the tournament. To be frank, the NCAA Tournament should just be replaced with the ACC tournament, with some allowances for when one of the lesser leagues like the Big East or the PAC 10 has a team good enough to join them.

To be fair to the site, they make a good point. If you read their explanation, they got us in the Elite 8 if Drew’s 100%. They just said that if he’s not, we’re in deep poop. Also, fuck Duke.

yeah that article doesnt really bother me……in fact im just gonna say that it speaks the truth. as drew goes, we go……..period. i dont agree that hes not healthy because at this point he better be or hes the worlds slowest healer, but if he isnt for some reason or reaggervates it well we’ll all soon know how the pats fans felt after the super bowl loss and an amazing regular season

I must, I like our draw. There are no easy games. But I think all games up to the elite Eight give us a favorable match-up. UCLA scares the shit out of me. These games are gonna kill me. I don’t see any blow-outs coming our way. Lets get ready for some exciting basketball.
