Patrick, I love the blog, very professional! Keep up the good work. I saw this email from your Aunt and felt it should be on your glog.
Go Bucks!

Hello Niece and Nephew,
I know this may come as a shock to you, but I normally do not follow college basketball and the tournament. However, since I now work at the YMCA, I have surrendered to the peer pressure there and recently filled out my first bracket ever. I am hooked. When choosing my winners, the critera was easy... whose colors did I like best, who has the cutest mascot and do I know people who went there. So it was no surprise when my prediction for the finals came down to Georgetown vs Xavier. But then how would I ever choose between my niece's school and that of my nephew? My friend who works with me at the Y (and just happens to be named Patrick) and was instrumental in getting me started on my bracket, tried to help me decide. He said (with a very southern accent), "Well who do you love the most?" And I replied, (without a southern accent), "I love them both equally...I could never choose based on that." So he tried another tactic. "Who makes the most money?" After a bit of thought, (sorry Patrick), I said "Emily, probably." And Patrick replied, "Well then Patrick needs your help...you have to go with him." I don't know what to do. Perhaps you can each write back to me with your thoughts on who deserves to be in my final slot and why.

Chelsea and Cal are both here with us this weekend so we are enjoying our time together. Looking forward to the day when we can have a cousins reunion here at the beach. I would love that. Happy Easter to you both.

Love, Aunt Kathy

I know I "overreacted" to the dawgsports.com blog. But I feel there is reason for that. Basketball is really all we have here in Muskie Land Ranch. I probably take it too personally when I read/hear fans of another school say they like football much much more. However, after the way we lost to Ohio State last year I am scarred for life on that front and I'm okay with that.

You guys have a very good team. That second half surge was too much for us to handle. I'll be pulling for the Musketeers from here on out.

However, you kinda misinterpreted the point from the UGA blog that you quoted above. As most people know, the Jim Harrick era at UGA was very embarrassing to all of us down here. However, the man is clearly a good coach and won some ball games for us. The year that we pulled ourselves out of the tourney (2003), we were one of the better teams in the country. What he was saying was that while we want to win, as alums of UGA we are more concerned that the people who are in charge of our athletic programs be good representatives of the university. We want to win, but we will not become a "win at all costs" type of program. Don't take that as indifference to the bottom line. Believe me, there is plenty of interest in UGA basketball from the fans and students. The problem is, we haven't had that much to be interested in lately (until the past week or so).
